Meet Megan, Owner of Playtime Academy
Hi everyone! My name is Megan, I’m a proud mom of two girls and one boy, a wife, and an entrepreneur. I’ve spent most of my life in the Folsom, Orangevale, and Fair Oaks area and love being part of this incredible community. I also serve on the PTA board at my children’s elementary school, which allows me to stay connected and involved in local education.
Early Childhood Education has been my passion since I was in elementary school. With over 20 years of experience, I’ve worked in a variety of roles—from teacher and aide to van driver, office coordinator, assistant director, and director. After earning my Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2010, I gained hands-on experience working in local programs and continued to grow professionally.
During the 2020 quarantine, I decided it was finally time to finish my Bachelor’s degree. On March 14, 2022, I proudly graduated with a BA in Early Childhood Education Administration—a goal 20 years in the making!
In addition to my work in early childhood, I previously owned a children’s art studio, The Art Box, where I hosted creative workshops that helped inspire my belief in hands-on, expressive learning.
I bring strengths in communication, leadership, creativity, organization, and building meaningful relationships. My goal is to provide a high-quality, play-based, and nature-inspired environment where children feel safe, loved, and supported as they grow and learn.
I’m currently pursuing my Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education to continue learning and enhancing the care I provide.

Kathleen (Kat)
My name is Kat (Kathleen), and I have lived in Orangevale since 1987. I am retired, and my sons are grown. No grandbabies yet?!? My boys attended Twin Lakes Elementary and Playtime Academy when it was Bright Horizons.
I am starting my new chapter! I enjoy working with children, gardening, animals, and cooking. I am a Folsom Zoo Sanctuary docent with a year-round garden at my home. I earned my ECE degree years ago and am so happy to work in this field.
I believe play helps babies and children acquire the skills to have strong, healthy minds and bodies and become resilient, kind individuals.

Hello Everyone! I’m Leslie nice to meet you all.!
I consider myself a very outgoing and caring person. On my free time I enjoy exploring new restaurants, coffee shops and traveling with friends and family.
Working with children has always been my strength. Seeing all their smiles brightens up my day’s. I am currently finishing my degree in childhood development.
I’m a strong believer that as a teacher we are given the ability to not just teach but inspire little human minds.
I’m so happy I get to be part of this amazing and beautiful team.
Ms. Sarah
Hi! My name is Ms. Sarah. I love working with children and feel happiest when I’m learning and exploring alongside them. I have a big love for the outdoors and enjoy paddle boarding, discovering new places, and exploring the world whenever I can.
Family is very important to me, and I bring that same care and connection into the classroom each day.
I’m passionate about creating a fun, supportive environment where children feel safe, curious, and excited to learn.
Reily
Hi everyone! My name is Reily, and I’m so happy to be part of the Playtime Academy team. Working with children is something I’m very passionate about, and I love helping them learn, explore, and have fun each day.
When I’m not in the classroom, you can usually find me traveling or enjoying the outdoors.
